MetalTown 2012, Gothenburg, SwedenMETAL VETERANS CANDLEMASS AND OZ JOIN LINE UP!

With only one month left to the festival, organisers continue to fill the line up with artists.

Confirmed today are the Swedish doom metal kings of Candlemass who in the summer make their first Metaltown appearance in five years. In addition, the legendary Finnish band OZ are also confirmed, reformed after a full 20 years of silence now resurfaced.  Also joining today’s announcement is Canadian comedian and rock lover Jason Rouse.

After three decades as a band belonging Candlemass our most experienced metal masters and most revered Swedish hard rock bands. Grammy-winning, groundbreaking and trend-setter with its doom metal that could not be compared with many other things in the ’80s. The album “Nighfall” from 1987 is a real milestone for the whole genre. The plate which sold nearly a million expemplar became Candlemass definitive breakthrough.

Now updated with their eleventh studio album, “Psalms for the Dead”. Candlemass 2012 is heavier than ever before. A plate as close to dark perfection as you can get and who should be most complete to date.

The Finnish metal veterans in OZ formed the band in the late 70’s. 1983 released the album “Fire in the brain,” as the cult declared and counted as a true metal classic. With songs like “Search Lights,” “Black Candles” and “Megalomaniac” became the album is pretty good here in the USA and Japan.

After 20 years of silence resurfaced OZ last year. Along with Nicke Andersson from the Hellacopters as a producer, they played the album “Burning Leather”.

The rebellious and independent comedian Jason Rouse maintains this summer Metaltown! Canadian who made his name by appearance on including Showtime, HBO, MTV and BBC. We’re talking about a stubborn hard rockers who performed at festivals like Sonisphere, Blood Stock, Hole in the Sky, Download, just to name a few. After an earlier visit to Sweden, he created the evening newspaper headlines after an altercation.
