Hard Rock Calling 2012

Hard Rock Calling Festival, London UKHARD ROCK CALLING SHOWCASES EMERGING ARTISTS ON THE HARD ROCK RISING STAGE

New to this year’s festival, the Hard Rock Rising stage will give 21 undiscovered bands from all over the world the opportunity to showcase their talent in front of today’s iconic artists and their fans.

The Hard Rock Rising stage showcases Hard Rock International’s connection to the new music scene and commitment to emerging artists.

To bring fans the hottest new talent, Hard Rock tapped into Steven Van Zandt, founding member of The E-Street Band and creator of the radio show “Little Steven’s Underground Garage,”; rockers Fyfe Dangerfield of Guillemots and Starsailor’s James Walsh, who will each curate the Hard Rock Rising stage for a day of the festival.

James Walsh will also close out the weekend with his own incredible performance on the Hard Rock Rising stage.

This year, Hard Rock also hosted its global battle of the bands competition, Hard Rock Rising, showing support for up-and-coming artists and providing a forum for them to gain international exposure.

More than 12,000 bands from 86 Hard Rock Cafe cities across the globe participated in the 2012 Hard Rock Rising competition for the opportunity to perform live at Hard Rock Calling with thousands of fans and headliners, including Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band, Soundgarden and Paul Simon.

The Hard Rock Rising competition’s runners-up, Brass Wires Orchestra of Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon and FOS of Hard Rock Cafe Jakarta, will also take the rock star journey to London and perform on the Hard Rock Rising stage at this year’s Hard Rock Calling festival.

“At Hard Rock, we pride ourselves in providing a forum for today’s hottest new talent, and the Hard Rock Rising competition really helped to showcase some great undiscovered bands,” said John Galloway, Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for Hard Rock International.  “And now with the Hard Rock Rising stage, festival-goers will get a taste of tomorrow’s rock stars all weekend long.”

In addition to showcasing great new music, the Hard Rock Rising stage area will feature two vibrant bars, including a dedicated cocktail bar, and a number of interactive entertainment surprises. The Hard Rock Rising stage will be THE place for fans to rock out and enjoy at this year’s iconic festival.
