History of Acoustic Gathering

The Acoustic Gathering Festival has been a free event in Peasholm Park, Scarborough, typically hosted on the second Sunday in September to mark the end of the summer season. Since 2006 when the first Acoustic Gathering took place, the main focus of the event has been to showcase local musicians alongside nationally and internationally renowned artists.

The event has also hosts a Community Market, a platform for bringing together local businesses and organisations as well as providing free entertainment for children such as soft-play and face painting. Each year, the Acoustic Gathering team take great care transforming the park with flags, decorations and lights to provide a true festival feel.

Acoustic Gathering is a safe, family-friendly event and the organisers actively seek the involvement of the Safety Advisory Group, North Yorkshire Police, Scarborough Borough Council and other Responsible Authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of all its visitors.

Acoustic Gathering is run with full cooperation from Scarborough Borough Council, who facilitate the event to the best of their capabilities. SBC will continue to provide support in kind assistance to the festival and consider the event to be important, both economically and socially.
