Sonisphere Festival UKSONISPHERE FESTIVAL SPAIN GROWS TO 2 DAYS AND ADDS MORE BANDS!

Sonisphere festival Spain has been extended and will now go from one to two days, with performances also on Friday, July 15th.

Among the new signings of 2011 Sonisphere is an exclusive performance in Spain of TWISTED SISTER, New York band that emerged in the 70 and essential for understanding the hard rock and glam metal 80’s. Straddling the Judas Priest heavy metal and hard rock of Kiss and Alice Cooper himself, his gaudy makeup and anthems like ‘We’re Not Gonna Take It’ or ‘I Want to Rock’ would have been at the altar of rock and roll.

In a heavier musical wave, the presence of bands of the packaging and the trajectory of the U.S. DREAM THEATER (progressive metal), Sweden’s ARCH ENEMY (melodic death metal) and HAMMERFALL (Helloween power metal to) the Italians LACUNA COIL (gothic metal) and band GOJIRA (progressive death metal)

No less important are the bands representing the national scene, the locals SÔBER present their new and highly anticipated album ‘Superbia’ (his first studio album in seven years) and ANGELUS APATRIDA, the most powerful revelation of the national metal recently , will present his album ‘Clockwork’, acclaimed by critics and audiences. Americans Valient Thorr, initially announced for Saturday 16, will play on Friday.

Sonisphere Festival Knebworth, UKWELCOME HOUSE OF PAIN, ARCH ENEMY, PERIPHERY, GRINSPOON & FOZZY!

Five more bands added to the Sonisphere festival UK line up, starting with HOUSE OF PAIN who are reforming in celebration of their 20 year anniversary to play Sonisphere as part of a worldwide reunion tour.

Also joining the 2011 line up are melodic extreme metallers ARCH ENEMY, one of the leading lights of the death metal scene.  PERIPHERY has set the metal world alight with their self-styled “Djent” metal, injecting a new sense of excitement around this buzzing new sub-genre. Combining the complex atypical rhythms and technical precision of math rock with the sensational brutality of progressive metal, PERIPHERY is a band that is constantly pushing the envelope

Australian alternative-rockers GRINSPOON announce their inclusion at SONISPHERE 2011, hot off the back of their UK tour which ended in London this last weekend

And finally, wrestling and rock have a long history together, a natural partnership that led to pro-wrestler Chris Jericho teaming up with Stuck Mojo guitarist Rich Ward to create FOZZY, who join this year’s cast. Existing solely to rock hard, be that playing popular metal classics or their own material, FOZZY’s reputation for powerful and energetic live shows make their appearance at SONISPHERE 2011 one that promises to be a fun-packed celebration of good old heavy metal
