Fresh off their tour with New Orleans sludge legends Crowbar, HAMMER OF THE GODS announce their appearance at BLOODSTOCK this summer.

Extreme Metal Legends AT THE GATES has confirmed their only UK show of 2011 will take place at next year’s BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR.

One of the most influential metal bands of the last 20 years, AT THE GATES made a permanent mark after 1995’s “Slaughter of the Soul” album captured the imaginations of metal heads the world over. Taking the aggression of death metal and lacing it heavily with melody, the album was released to huge critical acclaim – including a Swedish Grammy nomination – and AT THE GATES looked set to take the world by storm. However disbanding in 1996 meant the next chapter was never written.

Bloodstock Festival UKBLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR adds another exciting band to the line up. German power-metallers GRAVE DIGGER make their return to the UK, with a plethora of anethemic, fist-pumping metal that will see the fields of CATTON HALL covered in a sea of raised horns.

“HELL YEAH!” proclaim the band. “After all these years we will return to the UK again in August 2011. We are really proud that we are invited to the famous BLOODSTOCK FESTIVAL. We will bring the Clans back to the UK to play the Tunes of War again! “We can’t wait to enter the stage to present the audience our TRUE GERMAN HEAVY METAL. Another blast from the past – although perhaps not as far back – and also making their BLOODSTOCK debut, comedy Thrashers LAWNMOWER DETH will join ANGELWITCH on the SOPHIE LANCASTER stage
