Pukkelpop Festival 2012, BelgiumFOO FIGHTERS, BJORK AND THE STONE ROSES TO HEADLINE PUKKELPOP 2012

Festival organizers announced last night that the Foo Fighters would be back at Pukkelpop this year and now we can reveal that Bjork and The Stone Roses have also been confirmed as headliners!

Legendary headlines Björk and The Stone Roses will play their first Pukkelpop concert ever. Björk will lead us into her musical fairy-tale world on Thursday 16th August.  She’ll find herself in good company with the reborn band Bloc Party. A day later The Stone Roses, icons of the Britpop scene, will play on the Main Stage.

On Saturday the ‘lonely boys ‘ of The Black Keys will warm up the  Main Stage audience for Foo Fighters.   There’s very little doubt you will also enjoy the shows of Feist, The Afghan Whigs, Wilco, The Gaslight Anthem, Mark Lanegan Band, Miike Snow and Eagles of Death Metal.

Other Pukkelpop acts are Two Door Cinema Club, The Horrors, OFWGKTA, Flying Lotus, tUnE-yArDs, The Tallest Man On Earth, Hudson Mohawke, Stephen Malkmus and the Jicks, Ghostpoet, Fink, Dorian Concept, The Big Pink and Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaries.

The dance enthusiasts will be well catered for once again. Digitalism live will try to blow up the speakers on Friday. Magnetic Man will reach for the top dubstep shelf and let you have a taste of his latest work. Modestep will be back after their great show in 2011 and Buraka Som Sistema will make your buttocks vibrate on Saturday. And oh! Modeselektor, Camo & Krooked live, Carl Craig presents 69 live, Benga live, Dirtyphonics, SebastiAn live, Ms. Dynamite and Loadstar live will be there too.

Behind the decks you will find Nero, one of the dubstep sensations of the moment. Laurent Garnier will play under the LBS flag for the last time in Belgium and Flux Pavilion will prove to be the loudest ‘dubstep ‘villain’ on duty. The super catchy Dada Life will invite you onto the Kiewit dance floor for the first time. Tiga, who has been absent for a few years, will show up again. And so will Crookers, Borgore, Mark Ronson, Doctor P, Len Faki, High Contrast feat. Jessy Allen & Dynamite MC, Brodinski, Joy Orbison, KOAN Sound, Gemini, SCNTST, Doorly, The Zombie Kids, Pearson Sound, Ben UFO and Pangaea.

If you prefer louder and rougher work, you’d better head for the Shelter, where you’ll find Enter Shikari, Good Riddance, Me First & The Gimme Gimmes, Trash Talk, Graveyard, Every Time I Die, letlive.,  The Jim Jones Revue, Devil Sold His Soul, Deaf Havana, Bleed From Within and others.

Pukkelpop Festival BelgiumPUKKELPOP FESTIVAL MAKE ITS FIRST ANNOUNCEMENT

Headliners this year have been named as FOO FIGHTERS, EMINEM and DEUS.

They’ll be joined by Duck Sauce, who will close the festival on Saturday night, Thirty Seconds To Mars, The Offspring, Skunk Anansie, Fleet Foxes, James Blake and Jamie Woon in Kempische Steenweg, Belgium on 18-20 August.

Anna Calvi, Warpaint, The Naked And Famous, Miles Kane, Dorian Concept, Rustie, Twin Shadow, Eliza Doolittle, Untold, WU LYF, Ramadanman aka Pearson Sound, The Antlers, Mayer Hawthorne & The County, Wolf People, Dry the River, Trophy Wife, Planning To Rock, Fenech Soler and Japanese Voyeurs are all confirmed to play too.

The Streets, The Horrors, Explosions In The Sky, Trentemoller, Blonde Redhead, The Raveonettes, Lykke Li, Patrick Wolf, Wild Beasts, The View, Bonobo, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead, Sebadoh, Jose James, Little Dragon and Noah & The Whale will also all be there.

Mark Ronson & The Business Intl. and Paul Kalkbrenner will play the Dance Hall on Thursday night (18 August), with Crystal Castles, Bloody Beetroots Death Crew 77 and Birdy Nam Nam there on Friday (19 August). A-Trak, The Subs and Stromae will appear on Saturday (20 August), with Breakage featuring Jess Mills, Modestep, Example and The Shoes also set to appear across the weekend.

The first rock / metal additions for The Shelter stage are Deftones, Bullet For My Valentine, Bring Me The Horizon, Apocalyptica, Good Charlotte, Suicidal Tendencies, New Found Glory, Face To Face, No Use For A Name, Bouncing Souls, Yellowcard, OFF!, As I Lay Dying, Adept, Your Demise, Devil Sold His Soul, Bleed From Within, Yashin, Title Fight and Gay For Johnny Depp.

And finally the first names announced for the festival’s Boiler Room are Dave Clarke, Benga & Skream ft. Youngman, Crookers, Andy C & MC GQ, Netsky, Nero, Calvin Harris, Cassius, Skrillex, Busy P, Benny Benassi, DJ Fresh, Feadz, Drop The Lime, Danny Byrd, Carte Blanche, Congorock, SebastiAn, Camo & Krooked, Canblaster, Emalkay, Gesaffelstein and Borgore.

California’s BLINK 182 join previously announced Foo Fighters as headliners for T in the Park 2011

After splitting up in 2004, the band go back together last year and have a new album planned for next year, lucky T in the Park visitors might even get the chance to hear a track or 2!

Oxegen Festival, IrelandBLINK 182 COMING TO OXEGEN NEXT JULY!

Hot on the heels of announcing Foo Fighters and Arctic Monkeys as the first headliners for OXEGEN 11, organizers have confirmed that BLINK-182 will also be performing at Oxegen in July.

With 25 million worldwide album sales under their belt, pop punk trio BLINK-182 formed in California in 1992 and released five studio albums including multi-platinum selling breakthrough album Enema of the State before breaking away from the music scene in 2004.

With a new album planned for release in spring 2011, BLINK-182 Oxegen performance will be eagerly anticipated by their Irish fans.

Pinkpop Festival, NetherlandsFOO FIGHTERS CONFIRMED AS 3RD HEADLINER FOR PINKPOP 2011

Continuing their summer 2011 headline festival appearances, FOO FIGHTERS have been confirmed to headline the opening night of Pinkpop with Kings of Leon headlining Sunday, and Coldplay headlining the day before.

Also confirmed today are Amsterdam-based band GO BACK TO THE ZOO.

The Foo Fighters are putting the finishing touches to their 7th album have been confirmed as the first headline act for next year’s T in The Park Festival!

Geoff Ellis (T’s head honcho) said: “Once again we are proud to bring one of the world’s biggest and most influential rock bands to Balado.  As well as being a personal favourite and a band that T in the Park fans continually praise, Foo Fighters are one of the best festival headliners on the planet and I’m delighted we have them for T in the Park 2011.”

FIRST ACTS CONFIRMED FOR SOUTHSIDE & HURRICANE FESTIVALS

SOUTHSIDE takes place in Scheeßel, Lower Saxony, Germany and HURRICANE in Take Off Park, Neuhausen ob Eck near Munich from Friday 17th to Sunday 19th June 2011.

The first acts to be confirmed are FOO FIGHTERS, BLINK 182 and THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS will headline and will be joined onstage by The Wombats, Two Door Cinema Club, Sick of it All, Parkway Drive, William Fitzsimmons, Friendly Fires, Darwin Deez, Converge, Comeback Kid, and Kvelertak.

Plus two German acts Frittenbude and Egotronic appearing on the White Stage

Isle of Wight Festival, UKIn a week full of announcements the Isle of Wight festival has revealed that the FOO FIGHTERS will join Pulp at the festival on Saturday June 11th.

The multiple Grammy and Brit Award winners join the mighty Kings of Leon and the newly reformed Pulp, from Friday June 10th – Sunday June 12th for what will be the hottest ticket of the summer.

John Giddings, the Festival’s promoter, says, “What band is more fitting to bring back for our tenth birthday than the Foos? They gave it their all in 2006 and have only become bigger and better since”.
