Hove Festival 2011HOVE FESTIVAL WELCOMES RAPPER FREDDIE GIBBS!

More hip-hop! Finally, the part of the program to fall slightly in place, both today and tomorrow! But first to those of you waiting a little harder cases and more indie: just relax – it’s going a lot more! There. Let us rejoice that FREDDIE GIBBS is in place.

“Guys like FREDDIE GIBBS are saving rap” wrote Pitchfork when the rapper released his two mixtape in 2009. For with the goal of being the ghetto CNN and report live from the streets, Gibbs has been one of rap’s most talked-positive artists – now finally starting to spread their skills to the rest of the world. It is perhaps not without reason that people have started comparing him with Tupac Shakur – in both voice and text content.

Hove Festival 2011BRIGHT EYES CONFIRMED FOR HOVE FESTIVAL

Organisers had initially planned to announce BRIGHT EYES next week, but decided to bring it forward to today (Friday 11th February)!

In an interview Dagbladet has done with the current American record (The People’s Key is released next week), it is obvious that he is looking forward so much to Hove that he might as well take responsibility for getting out the news himself.

Extra nice is that the more that we can wish him and his band welcome to our fifth anniversary.  BRIGHT EYES was actually one of the major highlights of the first edition of Hove, a concert Brandon Flowers from The Killers described as one of the most magical moments in his life!

BRIGHT EYES has for years been a unique little gem of American music, but announced in an interview not long ago that the BRIGHT EYES album will be the last ever.  Incredibly sad, but good to know that you can have taken a final farewell to the band we have flash so happy in. The People’s Key released 15 February
