Next we head to some rock and metal starting with BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR FESTIVAL at Catton Hall, Walton-On-Trent, Derbyshire from the 10th – 12th August!  Alice Cooper will be bringing his fantastic show to Bloodstock this year on Sunday , other acts already announced include  Behemoth, Anvil, Orange Goblin, Paradise Lost, Watain, Dimmu Borgir, Hatebreed, Corrosion of Conformity, Anaal Nathrakh, Black Dahlia Murder, Sanctuary, Grand Magus, Sight of Emptiness, Mayhem, Nile with more still to come….

If that sounds a bit too heavy then you need to check out the 10th Anniversary of DOWNLOAD FESTIVAL taking place close by at Donington park on the 8th – 10th June!  Headliners have already been announced with the mighty Metallica playing their Black Album in full, a reformed Black Sabbath and wild card The Prodigy!  Other bands include Soundgarden, Biffy Clyro, Tenacious D, Biffy Clyro, Chase And Status, You Me At Six, Machine Head, Trivium, Lamb of God, Anthrax, DevilDriver, Devin Townsend Project, Little Angels, Ugly Kid Joe AND August Burns Red!

And finally taking place on the Isle of Wight from the 22nd – 24th June at Seaclose Park, Newport is the ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL! This year features three US headliners – Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers, Bruce Springsteen & The E Street Band and Pearl Jam.  With 3 days and 3 stages plus fun fair there is always something to do or hear at this great festival!

Isle of Wight Festival 2012ISLE OF WIGHT ADDS MORE BANDS JUST BEFORE XMAS!

The Isle of Wight Festival 2012 line up just got even BIGGER with the addition of the simply unstoppable Tinie Tempah and one of the UK’s most exciting artists, Labrinth appearing on the main stage on Saturday 23rd June. Also joining the line up on Sunday 24th are alternative rockers Band of Skulls and award winning singer and guitarist Joan Armatrading.

For the first time, on Friday 22nd June the Isle of Wight Festival 2012 will host a dance night in the atmospheric Big Top and headlining are the unique Groove Armada present Red Light who will bring their 4-deck, multi F-X, audiovisual DJ experience to the Festival. Watch this space, as more top acts will be announced in the New Year. Sunday 24th June sees the loud guitars and larger than life drumming of Black Stone Cherry, Spector, Zulu Winter, The Milk and Switchfoot turn up the heat.

Appearing on the Garden Stage will be festival favourites the Brit Floyd who are headlining on Thursday 21st June. The exceptional Crystal Castles will headline on Friday 22nd June with Penguin Prison. Headlining on Saturday 23rd June will be The Charlatans, an inspirational force in British music who will be performing their iconic album Tellin’ Stories in full. American punk rock band X and singer-songwriter Terry Reid also join the line-up.

Isle of Wight Festival, UKKAISER CHIEFS RETURN TO THE ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL

The Isle of Wight Festival is proud to welcome the return of one of Leed’s finest bands –  KAISER CHIEFS, to the Main Stage at this year’s sold out Festival. Five individuals with three hugely successful albums under their belts.  Kaiser Chiefs are back! Performing ahead of Kings of Leon on Friday 10th June, the band is the perfect addition to one of the hottest weekends of the summer.

This year, the Garden Stage will see Tim Burgess & Mark Collins from The Charlatans – Acoustic Set, Andrea Corr, Ian Brodie, Tom McRae, Roachford, Yellowire, Ben Montague, James Walsh, It’s A Beautiful Day, Julie Felix, Scarlette Fever, Pronghorn, Joe Janiak, Bethia Beadman, Soul Circus, The Scarletz, Stereo Son, Bibelots, Charley Macaulay, Will and the People, The Bonfires, The Arcadian Kicks and Truly Violet showcase unique, stripped back and intimate performances of their chart topping songs.

Unfortunately Tinie Tempah won’t be joining the Festival this year. Tinie commented: “Huge apologies to my fans, due to conflicting schedule demands I sadly won’t be able to play this year’s Isle of Wight Festival but look forward to another opportunity in the future.”

Isle of Wight Festival, UKMORE ACTS ADDED TO THIS YEAR’S ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL

Even though the IOW festival is sold out, that doesn’t stop organisers bringing more great acts to this year’s festival!

Announced today are – THE COURTEENERS, BANND OF HORSES & WE ARE SCIENTISTS have been added to Friday’s line and MIKE & THE MECHANICS and BIG COUNTRY will be heading towards the main stage on Saturday!

Before the festival starts, on the Thursday night ABC will be performing in the Big Top before BOY GEORGE. Saturday’s Big Top guests will be THE CULT and MONA will join the Sunday line up.

Isle of Wight Festival, UKFRIDAY NIGHT IS GIRLS’ NIGHT OUT IN THE BIG TOP!

The highly successful Girls’ Night Out returns to the Big Top at this year’s sold out Isle of Wight Festival, with a line up not to be missed! Joining headliner Joan Jett & The Blackhearts at one of the biggest weekends of the summer will be a host of pop’s finest females.
The iconic Festival will see performances from ALEXANDRA BURKE, ELIZA DOOLITTLE, IMELDA MAY, DIANA VICKERS, PARADE and LAURA STEEL.

Isle of Wight Festival, UKSOLD OUT ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL ADDS RAPPER TINIE TEMPAH

The sold out Isle of Wight Festival today announce that the Brit award nominated rapper TINIE TEMPAH will be headlining the Saturday evening in the Big Top.

British breakthrough artist TINIE TEMPAH will showcase not only his lyrical abilities, but his appreciation for an array of sounds, from gritty grime to pop-tinted R&B and dance in the Big Top on Saturday evening. He may be small in stature, but TINIE TEMPAH is the sound of 2010.

Isle of Wight Festival, UKMORE ACTS ADDED TO ISLE OF WIGHT 2011

Added today – Iggy And The Stooges, Seasick Steve, Hurts, Stornoway, Lissie, Wild Beasts, The Vaccines, Semi Precious Weapons, Joan Jett & The Blackhearts To Headline Ladies Night In The Big Top On Friday, Boy George Headlines Thursday Campers’ Night

In the Big Top headlining Thursday June 9th will be the flamboyant BOY GEORGE, followed by a headline show from punk pioneer JOAN JETT &THE BLACKHEARTS on Friday June 10th.  The Big Top will also host performances from WILD BEASTS, THE VACCINES and SEMI PRECIOUS WEAPONS on Saturday June 11th, with the headline act still to be announced in the coming weeks. Isle of Wight Festival, UKBEADY EYE will join the Isle of Wight Festival 2011 line up on Sunday June 12th, appearing as Special Guest to Kasabian. With Liam Gallagher at the helm and their first UK tour selling out within 30 minutes, it’s sure to be an explosive show.

BEADY EYE, comprising of Liam Gallagher, Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, are set to release their debut album ‘Different Gear, Still Speeding’ in February 2011

Isle of Wight Festival, UKMANIC STREET PREACHERS, PUBLIC IMAGE Ltd, CAST, HADOUKEN!, NICK LOWE & BROTHER

More acts have today been added to the Isle of Wight Festival 2011 line up. The award winning Manic Street Preachers, critically acclaimed Public Image Ltd, Britpop giants Cast, the dynamic Hadouken!, the headmaster of British rock Nick Lowe and hotly tipped Brother, will raise the roof of the Big Top on Sunday 12th June.

Isle of Wight Festival, UKRounding off a week of announcements, The Isle of Wight Festival has revealed that the almighty KASABIAN will take the top spot on Sunday’s line up.  Joining the already world class list of headliners, Kings of Leon and Foo Fighters with Pulp co-headlining, British rockers KASABIAN are certain to end the festival in true Isle of Wight style. Don’t miss out, tickets go on sale tomorrow (Friday 19th November)

In 2010 the chart topping 4-piece from Leicestershire won numerous awards including a BRIT, two NME’s, Q Award and Mojo Award. They were nominated for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize for the multi platinum selling ‘West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum’, and continue to produce the sound of a band at full strength. Sure to pull out all the stops, Kasabian are the perfect band to end the Festival.

John Giddings, the Festival promoter, says, “We wanted the kings of rock ‘n’ roll every night for our tenth birthday and the choices were obvious.  Kasabian have reignited UK rock music and taken the mantle, long may they reign. It will be a riotous crowd-pleasing end to the weekend and I think that Jimi Hendrix would approve of our choices!”

Isle of Wight Festival, UKPULP RETURN FOR THE ISLE OF WIGHT FESTIVAL 2011

Having last performed together in December 2002 Pulp are finally back. The much-loved, era defining band will be appearing on the main stage at the iconic Isle of Wight Festival 2011 on Saturday June 11th.

Taking place from Friday June 10th – Sunday June 12th, Pulp join Friday’s headliners Kings of Leon for an unforgettable weekend. Tickets go on sale on Friday 19th November.

Isle of Wight Festival, UK2011 is an extra special year for the Isle of Wight festival as it celebrates its 10th birthday!  To make it an extra special celebration this week is an ‘Isle of Wight Festival’ week with more announcements every day with tickets going on sale at 9am Friday 19th November….

The first major festival of the summer, the iconic Isle of Wight Festival today announces KINGS OF LEON as the first of its headliners. Taking place from Friday 10th – Sunday 12th June 2011 it is sure to be one of the hottest weekends of the summer and goes on sale this Friday 19th November. Watch this space, as more acts will be announced this week….

It’s the only UK major festival performance with the Tennessee four piece this year. Kings of Leon’s 5th album ‘Come Around Sundown’ became their 3rd consecutive album to debut at No.1 when it topped the UK charts upon release. The second single from their album, entitled ‘Pyro’ will be released on December 6th.
